Our Ambassador's Bryan Lee's

Born in Malaysia, where the Harp instrument has yet been fully recognized in the regions, young harpist Bryan Lee, the inborn with “perfect pitch”, endeavoured his music journey at the age of 3 with piano instrument.  By the at the age of 12, Lee decided Harp as his lifetime musical instrument.    Throughout his music endeavours, Lee’s had been awarded with numerous recognizable regional competitions. 

It had never been an easy journey for a young boy to excel in a harp instrument when limited teachers are available in town! Lee travelled miles and states to have a weekly lesson with his mentor.  In order to pursuit his musicianship dreams, laboriously plunging hours daily his fingers on various music instruments were rather challenging while hours of travel required for classes with his music teachers!  Requiring of ample of flexibility schedules, Lee chose “home school” programs as his entire academy journeys!  Yet, with resiliency Lee achieved excellent results on both IGCSE and Cambridge A-level. 

Lee obtained Bachelor Degree (Honours) at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of National University of Singapore with full scholarship under the tutelage of Professor Gulnara Mashurova, Principal He Symphony Orchestra. Prioring that, Lee also studied at the under the mentorship of Sebastien Horrer, the former Principal Harpist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Marianne Horrer, and Chu Yee Chern.  He has since performed regionally and globally at different prominent venues.  These includes Sun Symphony Orchestra (Vietnam), Sichuan Symphony Orchestra (China), Philharmonic Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia, the Petronas Performing Arts Group (Malaysia), the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (China), the Kunming International Philharmonic (China), and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra; he has performed with the latter in their appearance at the 2011 Beijing Music Festival. He had been offered the position of Principal Harpist for the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra and the Kunming International Philharmonic.

 

Lee currently teaches harp, piano and music theory at New Age Owls Online Music Academy, when he isn’t traveling and performing in various Orchestras.

..His performance of Bruch's Scottish Fantasy at Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore  won him a review by Dr. Marc Rochester as "one of the brightest stars of the performance". ….
